Crush of the Week: Lofty Boutique Living at Ave & Dav

238 Davenport LivingLocated between Yorkville and the Annex, at Avenue Road and Davenport Road, this gorgeous one-bedroom condo unit is one of only seven in the building. The builder of the high-end boutique building is Curated Properties, the same team that brought us such stand-out projects as the Beach Homes of Fallingbrook, award winning Edition Richmond, as well as the revamping of a former boiler factory near Bloor and Dovercourt Avenue.

With 2,228 square feet of living space, 18-foot ceilings and two-level walls of windows, this one-bedroom condo is a rare find. Designed by Powell & Bonnell, it offers simple contemporary decor. The front entry opens onto a floating staircase with glass railings and concealed storage below, as well as two oak closets and a powder room. The open-plan living room, kitchen and dining room look out onto a large terrace. The living room is grand yet inviting with the eight-foot-wide fireplace and a home office area with custom desk and storage. The kitchen blends in seamlessly with the living space, with a limestone island/breakfast bar and Corian countertops extending from the kitchen into the dining room. The stainless steel appliances in the kitchen add to the contemporary feel and include a wine fridge, a six-burner gas stove and an ultra-quiet dishwasher.

On the second level, the master bedroom has floor-to-ceiling windows and a Juliette balcony. A glass wall from the master bedroom overlooks the living room and a frosted glass panel divides the bedroom from the ensuite, which has a glass-enclosed steam shower, a free-standing soaker tub and heated limestone floors. And incase that wasn’t impressive enough, the enormous walk-in closet has wall-to-wall hanging racks, built-in drawers and organizers, a leather-topped packing table and a dressing mirror. Yes, the closets always get me.

If you’re looking to be wowed by the building amenities (pool, gym, etc.), this is not the place. You’ll just have to be content with the soaker tub in the master ensuite and nook for a treadmill in the den. So if you just discovered your future home and you’re about to call your mortgage broker, this place will set you back a cool $2.5 million, not including $1,336 monthly maintenance fees….oh, but think of the parties you could host!
